Luo Yi introduced to employees that the High-tech Zone is building a production base for 3 million new energy vehicles per year, and the power devices supporting new energy vehicles are the key development direction of Semipower in the future. Based on the calculation of 1.2 8-inch wafer power devices for a car (plus other original components, a total of 1.5 8-inch wafers are required), the number of wafers required each year will be a staggering 4 million or more. In the future, if the high-tech zone can build an epitaxial wafer factory and a module packaging factory as soon as possible to support Semipower's power device chips and module packaging, it will quickly form a huge industrial cluster with a scale of hundreds of billions within two years. This will enable the semiconductor industry in the high-tech zone to reach a new commanding height in global new energy vehicles. The introduction of high-end talents at home and abroad and the connection of industrial capital inside and outside the province will be the two carriages to achieve this goal.
